The polymerase chain reaction was used to amplify the c. glabrata gene sequence, which led to the identification of two new coumarin derivatives, 3-hydroxycoumarin and 4-hydroxycoumarin. The synthesis of Methyl 4-hydroxyphenylacetate has been shown to induce apoptosis in breast cancer cells by activating a cb2 receptor in T47D cells. This compound also has an acidic nature and is not stable at high temperatures or in basic solutions such as hydrochloric acid.
