CybLuc is an effective aminoluciferin derivative for deep bioluminescence imaging.

CybLuc is a fluorescent chemosensor that has been developed for measuring the enzymatic activity of cells. It uses electrochemical impedance spectroscopy to measure changes in light emission caused by the enzymatic reaction of vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) and tyrosinase. CybLuc has been shown to be specific for cells and can be used as an alternative to other methods such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay or fluorescence-based assays. The specificity of CybLuc makes it useful for determining the presence of VIP in animals, including humans, where VIP is involved in the regulation of blood pressure and gastrointestinal motility. CybLuc also shows neurotrophic activity when applied to neuronal cells, increasing cellular viability and proliferation.
